Ultrasound

An ultrasound is a medical imaging technique that uses sound waves to create images of internal body structures. You may need an ultrasound to diagnose or monitor various medical conditions, such as pregnancy, organ abnormalities, or vascular issues.
Prime Medical offers a range of ultrasound services, including abdominal ultrasounds, pelvic ultrasounds, obstetric ultrasounds, and vascular ultrasounds, among others.
The preparation for an ultrasound can vary depending on the type of exam. In some cases, fasting or drinking clear fluids may be necessary. Our doctors will provide specific instructions.
Ultrasound is considered a safe and non-invasive imaging method. It does not involve ionizing radiation, making it safe for various patient populations, including pregnant women.
During the procedure, you will lie on an examination table, and a sonographer will apply a gel to your skin. They will then use a handheld device called a transducer to obtain images. It’s a painless and comfortable process.
Ultrasound procedures are generally painless. You may experience mild discomfort due to the pressure of the transducer on your skin, but it is typically well-tolerated.
The duration of an ultrasound exam varies based on the type and complexity of the procedure. Most ultrasounds are completed within 20-45 minutes.

This will depend on which service you paid for, whether after 4 working hours, after 1 business day or after 2 business days. The report will be sent to the person or persons you requested at the time you registered for the scan.
