Fluoroscopy

Fluoroscopy is a medical imaging technique that uses X-rays to provide real-time, moving images of the inside of the body. Your doctor may recommend fluoroscopy to diagnose or monitor various medical conditions, such as gastrointestinal issues, joint problems, or vascular disorders.
Prime Medical provides a range of fluoroscopy procedures, including upper gastrointestinal (GI) studies, barium enemas, joint injections, and more, to address different medical needs.
The preparation for a fluoroscopy procedure depends on the specific exam. Our doctors will provide detailed instructions, which may include fasting or discontinuing certain medications.
Fluoroscopy is considered safe when performed by our trained professionals. The amount of radiation used is closely monitored and kept to a minimum to reduce any potential risks.
During the procedure, you will be positioned on an examination table, and a contrast agent (a substance that helps highlight certain areas) may be used. X-ray images are taken in real time as you undergo the examination.
Fluoroscopy procedures are typically not painful. You may experience some mild discomfort due to the positioning or the use of contrast agents, but this is usually temporary.
The duration of a fluoroscopy procedure varies based on the type of examination. Some exams may be completed in a short time, while others may take longer.

This will depend on which service you paid for, whether after 4 working hours, after 1 business day or after 2 business days. The report will be sent to the person or persons you requested at the time you registered for the scan.
